U2 Stud Link Anchor Chain
Description:
Anchor chain cable is joined by many links. Due to the presence of stud in the middle of a link, anchor chain cable is divided into stud link chain and studless link chain. Anchor chains can be processed through the following methods: forging, casting and welding. Marine anchor chain consists of a number of “shackle” with the length of 25.0m to 27.5m. Every two shackles of anchor chain are connected by a link or shackle.
Anchor Chain Application:
Anchor chains are used in marine applications to secure a ship or vessel to the seafloor. They are typically made of high-strength steel and are designed to withstand the immense forces that are generated by wind, waves, and currents.
The anchor chain is connected to the anchor on one end and to the ship on the other end. The weight of the chain helps to keep the anchor on the seafloor, and the chain also serves to absorb shock loads as the ship moves around.
When deploying the anchor, the chain is paid out until the desired length is reached. The amount of chain used will depend on the depth of the water, the strength of the current, and the size of the vessel. Once the anchor is set, the chain is tensioned to ensure that the anchor remains firmly embedded in the seabed.
Anchor chains are critical to the safety and stability of a vessel, especially in harsh weather conditions. Proper selection, installation, and maintenance of anchor chains are important to ensure safe and reliable operation.
