GBT554-2008 Marine Bollard Type A
Introduction:
There are five types of GB T 554-2008 GBT554-2008 is a Chinese standard that specifies the technical requirements and testing methods for marine bollards. Type A marine bollards are a type of single bitt bollard that are typically used for mooring vessels in ports or other marine environments.
According to the standard, a Type A marine bollard should be made of cast iron or cast steel, with a nominal diameter ranging from 100mm to 800mm. The bollard should be designed and manufactured to withstand a specified load, depending on its size. For example, a 100mm bollard should be able to withstand a load of 20 kN, while a 800mm bollard should be able to withstand a load of 800 kN.
The bollard should also be designed with certain dimensions and angles, including the height of the bollard, the diameter of the mounting hole, and the angle of the bollard head. These dimensions are specified in the standard and are intended to ensure that the bollard is compatible with standard mooring ropes and can effectively secure a vessel in place.
In addition, the standard specifies certain testing methods that should be used to ensure that the bollard meets the required load capacity and other performance criteria. These tests include a proof load test, a hardness test, and a visual inspection to check for any defects or damage.
Overall, the Type A marine bollard specified in GBT554-2008 is a robust and reliable mooring solution designed to withstand the harsh marine environment and keep vessels secure while they are docked or anchored.
